'Marvel Legends' is a toy
line started by Toy Biz for Marvel in 2002 featuring
finely sculpted and highly articulated 6-inch action
figures of Marvel's legendary characters.
Toy Biz introduced the
'Build-a-Figure' concept in Series 9, wherein each
action figure comes with a part needed to build an even
larger action figure (Galactus for Series 9).
Thus, buying all the action figures of the series will
allow one to build the 'BAF' action figure. This
concept became such a phenomenal hit that it thrived for
many years, until the cost of plastic recently made it
economically impractical to continue. Only Series 11 is
the non-BAF series after Series 8.
Note that Hasbro won the
Marvel license from Toy Biz in 2007, releasing their
first Marvel Legends Series with Series 16 (Annihilus
BAF). Many toy collectors, however, felt that Hasbro's
products did not meet the standards of the Toy Biz
products.
The action figures
included in the non-BAF Marvel Legends Series (Series 1
to 8 and Series 11) are presented below. All ML
BAF series can be accessed from both of these pages:
-
BAF Action Figures page,
where the individual action figures are shown, or the
-
Assembled BAF's Page, where the assembled BAF's
themselves are shown.
By the way, due to space
constraints, some
of the chase/variant action figures of the series are
not shown below. These, however, are shown or indicated
in the main character pages
of their corresponding
regular action figures. |
